Frequently Asked Questions

What form of payment do you accept?

We accept E-Transfer or cheque.

2. Do you offer discounts on product?

We share a discount only if we are hired for the design and procurement of your

project. In which case all ordering must be made through Diana Bastone Designs.

Our focus is providing you a professional service and design that meets your

needs. Our mission is to ensure that you receive a level of service that will

take the worry and stress off of you.

3. Do I need to hire you for all phases?

It is best that Diana Bastone Designs is hired for all phases in

order to receive the best quality design package which is clear and concise.

After you review the design budget (Whether for the construction/build or

decorating of your home) we can discuss options to reduce costs. For example,

no 3D renderings, design of only certain key rooms.

Each project is unique and we can discuss how we can best assist you with your

project.

4. What is your fee structure?

With each phase we have a different billing practice

Phase 1 – Consultation: Flat Fee

Phase 2 – Research and Design: Estimated Budget

Phase 3 – Procurement: Billed by the hour

Phase 4 – Styling with Accessories: Billed by the hour

5. Do you have your own contractor or can you work with our contractors?

We have a contractor we like to work with. They know our expectations and it is in

line with their standards. They are independent from DBD therefore the

construction budget and payment structure is done between you and the

contractor. However, if you have your own contractor, we will be happy to work

with them. We will do our part to provide all the pertinent

information/drawings and communicate with them at every stage of the

renovation.

6. Do you give options on any part of the design phases?

Options can be provided and we can discuss how we can implement this when preparing the

budget and design package.

7. How long will it take to carry out the design process up to presentation?

Each project is unique and the scope of services and level of detail will dictate

the length of time for the design package. Once we have a clear understanding

of your project we can provide you with a time line for the design package.

8. After the consultation and the budget is approved and we decide to hire you

what is the next step?

We prepare a letter of agreement and contract and have it signed by both parties.

We request the deposit payment for the design package and we determine our

timeline from the start date to presentation day.

9. At what point in my project should I reach out to a designer?

It is vital to introduce us to your project at the onset of the planning stages.

If you are building a home or renovating, by including us at the very beginning we can

collaborate with the architect or contractor and ensure your vision is executed.
